Had to share my new image from Rick Martinez of Studio RM, hes AMAZING and created a new ad for me as Miss Michigan Galaxy 2012 =)
This past Friday my boyfriend Jimmy and I ventured out to Kalamazoo with some friends for Dayglow 2012! Dayglow is an amazing concert/show that involves a ton of lights, ariel dancers, pyrotechnics and PAINT! It’s called the worlds largest paint party, black light, and TONS of neon paint make for one super fun night! I took a ton of photos I’m lucky I didn’t ruin my phone with all the paint that was everywhere!

Help me become the new face of E.L.F. Cosmetics!! It’s so easy to vote just click the link below and VOTE for me, you can vote everyday even!!!!
I am so excited to share this! Last night I was the featured guest on “PageantCast” A web series that interviews pageant queens around the world! It is such a cool show, and Tim the host is a super nice guy! Here is the episode I was in!
Lately I have seen a lot of tops that are backless. I have always loved the look but never knew how to wear it! I can’t just go braless but at the same time it looks bad with a bra! So I never dove in and really got into the backless thing. I was at Pacific Sunwear the other day and found the CUTEST lace cami’s. They were black lace, cropped to just about the rib cage. The perfect thing for those oh so cute backless tops I had been aching over! So of coarse I splurge and buy three of these things! I love how the look turned out and just wanted to share, for anyone else who’s thinking of going backless but maybe doesn’t know how!

I paired the backless shirt with a pair of purple jeans I got from Forever 21 for 19.99 and a long gold necklace also from Forever 21, 4.99

Up close, Just a side note; For makeup i went with a dark brown liner (Teddy, from MAC) a volumizing mascara (Day 2 Night from Rimmel!) and as odd as it sounds an orange lip stick, I liked how the color looked against my skin with the orange shirt (lipstick from cover girl, 4.99 plus shine gloss from maybelline 3.99)
So I am on week 3 of p90x! I have been doing what I consider pretty damn good, I haven’t skipped any days of workouts and I have stuck to the diet pretty good. (Alright maybe not that good, but I am eating a hell of a lot better than I was before!) So this morning I looked in the mirror and thought I saw some abs! WHAT! YESSSS! haha, Abs! So of course I had to share a picture. While I’m bragging about abs, I have to tell you though that I did have a set back today and couldn’t work out. What I plan on doing though is pushing everything back by 1 day. So instead of getting an off day on Sunday I’ll just have it today… anyway! Here are my “kinda abs” that appeared this morning after 3 weeks of p90x!
I went in to the salon today just to get a my hair color touched up and a BABY trim, I say baby trim because I am really working on growing out my hair, especially the top layer which I used to wear VERY short. I am one of those people who gets sick of my hair constantly, so I was up for a minor change to tide me over. I had just finished watching last nights episode of “New Girl” and thought, “bangs, why not?”
After a touching up my color my stylist went through and trimmed my bangs and gave me what she called, “bow tie bangs” I love them, and its just enough of a change to keep me from doing something crazy during the growing process!
I ponder this question constantly, “what should I wear to this damn concert!” It’s one of those things where if you are too dressy you look out of place, You want to be able to move around in whatever you pick, and walk in whatever shoes you pick as well!
My boyfriend Jimmy plays in a band, “West and Run” They are a little bit of pop, meets a little bit of punk. Tonight they have a show here in Grand Rapids and I thought bingo time to show off my concert wearing clothes!
This is what I chose for this particular event!
First off, I am lame enough to sport the bands t-shirt at the shows, (gotta have BF pride!) so I made sure mine looks extra snazzy but cutting the neck out to give it an over wider opening, it makes it look a little more feminine. I wanted to be able to wear whatever I chose out again after the show to dinner, or drinks without sticking out as a concert groupie. So I chose a high waisted brightly colored pencil skirt from Love Culture, along with a red boyfriend style blazer. Then with some black knee high wedge boots, and a waist cinching belt my look was complete!
I LOVE hair, love it! Short, long, medium, thick, thin, I don’t care, I firmly believe every can rock a head of awesome hair you just need the tools to do so! Over the years I have had overhaul after overhaul when it comes to my hair, from long to short, to bright red, to dark brown its always something different I have learned that changing my style can make a big difference in how I feel! The biggest obstacle I needed to learn though was how to change my style with out damaging my hair. Bleaching my hair was definitely killing it off at a fast pace! I now keep it dark but there are so many things I can do to change it and have a different look all the time, with little to no damage! Check out my hair do’s!
Lets start with hair clips/bows You can spice up a look with a funky hair accessory. They sell them everywhere from your local walmart to Claire’s in many malls, I choose to make all mine, they are different and one of a kind and typically all they take is some hot glue and an imagination!

This hair clip was made from a hat I purchased at a local thrift store. I took the black flower off and with some inexpensive read feathers I hot glued them to a plain black hair barrett I got from Walmart, After they dried I postitioned it in my hair the way I like!

This one was special to me. It was New Years Eve and a few of my girl friends all got their hair done but I couldn't afford it. So instead I went through and curled my hair and teased the top, then with some bobby pins i pinned the curls up in the back like a formal up-do. It wasn't done yet though, I needed something, so I made another hair clip! My dress was all black along with my shoes so for a pop of color I took blue and green feathers along with some left over rhinestones and costume fringe and hot glued them all to a barret. The beauty of this kind of hair clip is that it doesn't need to look perfect, the rhinestones don't need to all line up, it creates a fun look, and I definitely stood out!

This was just last month, there was a party my boyfriend and I were invited too and everyone was wearing black. My hair wasn't really doing what I wanted and I didn't have time to make anything so I took an old black scarf and tied it like a headband around my head. I then secured it in a bow on the right side of my head!
Now for length and color! I constantly want to cut my hair, then grow it, OR I want to be a blonde and a month later I’m like NEVER MIND BRUNETTE! I have learned the extensions can make a world of difference. Either clip in extensions from your local Sally Beauty Supply, or going to a salon and getting them put in. I have done everything from highlight my hair through extensions, have purple streaks, go super long, tons of options and it doesn’t damage your hair one bit!

Anyone can do this one! Its my natural hair, with some purple extension pieces I scattered through out my hair, I created a fun funky look!

Basic clip ins, I used a little dry shampoo (something as inexpensive as Suave will do!) throughout my hair so the clip would have something to grip too. I then just clipped them around my head, from left side to right! I chose to use hot rollers but you can also just use a fat curling iron to create this one!

This was so fun! I actually was at a salon for this look because it was for a photo shoot with "Looking Glass Girls Photography" but it still is super simple. Again with the clip in extensions all over, we then curled them and teased them to give them a messy look. After it was curled she secured my hair into low pig tails and added some red clip in pieces for some accent color! The last touch was a simple red ribbon bobby pinned to my head like a headband! All in all it took 15 mins and it appears like it too much longer, plus my hair at the time of this shoot was only chin length!

Graduation day! It was warm out and I was itching to go back blond, but I knew it was really screw up my hair. So instead I went to my stylist and she put blond extensions through out my hair giving it a blond highlighted look! I was thrilled with the out come and I no bleach was needed!
These are just my tips, if you are anything like me and get scissor happy with your hair the minute you have a bad day then maybe these looks will be helpful! Little side note, all these pictures were taken within a small time frame!! 2010-Present!
